Solana Larsen

Jane Gabriel is Programme Director at openDemocracy. She is an independent television producer and has directed more than thirty social, historical and international current affairs films for Channel Four Television and the BBC Series “Correspondent”. She has won the Royal Television Society and One World Media Awards for International Journalism for films made in Greece and India. Jane was a member of Britain’s first all women television production company, Broadside – and later ran her own television production company.

Pinar Ilkkaracan
is the Founding President of Women for Women’s Human Rights, a leading women’s advocacy organization in Turkey; and co-founder of The Coalition for Sexual and Bodily Rights in Muslim Societies, an international network of NGOs and academicians working towards promotion sexual and bodily rights in the Middle East/ North Africa and South/Southeast Asia. She has participated in various UN meetings and conferences on women’s human rights both as a member of the Turkish delegation and NGO representative. She has written extensively on women and law; sexuality and religion; sexual and reproductive rights; human rights education and violence against women. She is the editor of Women and Sexuality in Muslim Societies (translated into Arabic and Turkish) and Deconstructing Sexuality in the Middle East and North Africa: Contemporary Issues and Discourses.
